Prof. Prashanth Konda Gokuldoss
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Prashanth Konda Gokuldoss (K. G. Prashanth) is presently working as the
Head of the Additive Manufacturing Laboratory and Full Professor at the Department of
Mechanical and Industrial Engineering, Tallinn, Estonia. He had started his career in
Bachelors of Engineering (B.E.) in Metallurgical Engineering (2002- 2006), Government
College of Engineering, Salem, followed by Master of Technology (M. Tech.) in
Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology –
Madras, India (2006-2008). During his M.Tech. tenure, he got the opportunity to carry
out M.Tech. dissertation at the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research,
Dresden, Germany as an exchange student through a scholarship from the German
Academic Exchange Service (DAAD – Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst),
where he had the opportunity to work on metallic glass reinforced composites by powder
metallurgy at the Leibniz Institute of Solid State and Materials Research, Dresden,
Germany. The next two years and half he was associated with the Helmholtz Center
Berlin for Materials and Energy, Berlin, Germany, working on nano-composites and
metallic foams. He had started his Phd (late 2011) in the field of additive manufacturing
(Selective Laser Melting – SLM), where he moved back to the Leibniz Institute for Solid
State and Materials Research, Dresden, Germany and had received his doctorate
(Dr.-Ing.) in May 2014, He then continued as a Post-doctoral researcher until February
2015 at the same institute. Later, he had worked as a R&D Engineer in Additive
Manufacturing from March 2015 to June 2016 at Sandvik AB, (Sandviken, Sweden) to
establish world class Additive Manufacturing lab for Sandvik. He then joined his mentor
(Prof. Juergen Eckert) at the Erich Schmid Institute of Materials Science, Austrian
Academy of Sciences, Leoben, Austria as a senior scientist to establish a work group on
meta-stable materials (from May 2016). He then joined as an Associate Professor in
Additive Manufacturing at the Department of Manufacturing and Civil Engineering,
Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Gjøvik, Norway, where he has worked
for nearly 18 months. Presently, he is working as a Full Professor in Additive
Manufacturing at the Department of Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering, Tallinn
University of Technology, Tallinn, Estonia. In addition, he also have the following guest
positions: (1) Guest Scientist at the Erich Schmid Institute of Materials Science, Austrian
Academy of Sciences, Leoben, Austria and (2) Adjunct Professor, Vellore Institute of
Technology, India. He has several years of research and industrial experience with nearly
155 research articles in peer scientific reviewed international journals with a h-index of
36 and 5500 citations (google scholar). In addition, he has delivered several keynote
lectures, invited talks, contributed oral and poster presentations at various national and
international Conferences, Symposiums and Seminars. Moreover, he has been recognized
as top 2% Materials Scientists in the world by a 2020 Stanford survey. .
Mohd Naveed Khan
Mohd. Naveed Khan Qualified chief executive with experience in overseeing the daily activities of small businesses and large corporations alike. Develop students in designing products and manufacturing systems that are functional, aesthetic, usable and sustainable. Develop knowledge, including methods and tools, to inform and empower practice and education of design and manufacturing.
Eng. Ata Abdi
Mr. Ata Abdi holder of a Master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering. He has been working on some international research projects on the metallurgical aspects of Additive Manufacturing (AM). His research interests include Failure analysis of additively manufactured parts under cyclic, dynamic, and static loadings, Development of Process-Material-Microstructure-Property relationships, Alloys design, and microstructure control, Additive Manufacturing of High-Entropy Alloys (HEAs), and Fabrication of patient-specific implants. Currently, he is an instructor of some AM workshops and a Research Assistant at Materials Science and Engineering Faculty of the K.N.Toosi University of Technology.
Prof. Bandar Almangour
Bandar AlMangour is currently an Assistant Professor at KFUPM in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Prior to joining KFUPM, AlMangour has served in multiple operational and research roles within SABIC, Saudi Arabia, and has pursued his Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University.AlMangour received his Ph.D./MSc, with distinction, in Materials Science and Engineering from UCLA in 2017 and 2014 respectively, and MEng in Materials Engineering from McGill University in 2012, and a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from KFUPM in 2005. He serve as an Editorial Board Member for several journals, Editorial Advisory Board Member at Cambridge Scholars Publishing, and Committee Member in the Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, ASM International. AlMangour is still a member for several professional organizations and he serve as a reviewer in several internationally recognized journals. He has served as principle investigator (PI) or co-PI for several research projects. His research is generally concerned with the investigation of fundamental industrial problems related to the processing, microstructure and behavior of materials, ranging from metals to (nano-) composites, for advanced structural and biomedical applications. His current research focuses on scalable materials processing including additive manufacturing and powder metallurgy, mechanical behavior at multiple length scales, bulk nanostructured alloys and composites, and surface engineering. AlMangour has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed papers in internationally recognized journals. AlMangour has more than 1,900 citations from his numerous referred publications on additive manufacturing and surface engineering, and his research developments have been presented at well over two dozen international conferences, including invited talks in UAE, Turkey, and Greece. In 2019, AlMangour received the Gulf Engineering Union Award for Excellence and Engineering Innovation. AlMangour was also awarded the SABIC Graduate Fellowships, the Undergraduate Classification: Internal Use Memorial Honor Medal (2005), Certificates of Distinction (KFUPM, 2004 and 2005), Outstanding Ph.D. Student Award (2017), and FEI Tony Award for best SEM image (2017).
Dr. Malika Khodja
Dr. Malika Khodja has a very hands approach to engineering as well as consulting work, collaborating with a multidisciplinary technical team to the benefit of the customer.
Currently, she is the co-founder director of Tiziri Advanced Manufacturing Technologies and the Africa Chair for the global organization Women in 3D Printing.
Khodja worked as a lecturer at the department of mechanical engineering from 2012, before moving to South Africa in 2015 to further her Ph.D. studies and gain experience in the industry. With mechanics of material, numerical simulation background, with a focus on finite element analysis and fracture mechanics.
Prof. M. Ajay Kumar
Mr. M. Ajay Kumar has completed his B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering From JNTU, Hyderabad and M.Tech in Product Design Engineering from JNTU , Anantapur and Pursuing PhD from KIIT University Bhubaneswar . Currently he was heading the “Centre for Additive Manufacturing and product design “ laboratory at CMR Technical Campus, Hyderabad. He has Conducted many Workshops/FDP’s in various institutions across the country and has trained more than 4000 students and 100 faculty members in additive manufacturing .He is also working as co-principal investigator in “Development of bio-degradable prosthetic limbs using 3D-printing for moment disability people” Sponsored by Department of Science and Technology (DST).
He is also working as a Project Scientist in the Department of Science and Technology (DST) Sponsored project “An AI enabled low cost mechanised manufacturing of leather products hub to empower SC Community “.
